The ethical person follows accepted principles of Dos and Don'ts that govern conduct within his or her profession. In a wider, national and global context, each individual has a personal code of conduct determined by his or her own ideals as well as the standards of his or her culture and community.
At the heart of ethics is the question of how our decisions affect others. When we do not act ethically, our individual actions create guilt by association. Collectively, an organization loses the public's trust, respect and business. Only by acting ethically do we actually help ourselves and everyone around us.
